Job Description

A loving family in Laurel, MD is seeking a dedicated and experienced full-time nanny to care for their three children: a 4-month-old infant, a 2-year-old daughter, and a 6-year-old son. The ideal candidate will bring experience, dedication, and a passion for fostering growth through engaging activities and nurturing care. The family offers a competitive benefits package.

Schedule:

  • Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 4:30 PM

  • Up to 5 hours overtime as needed 

  • The 6-year-old son attends school from 8:15 AM to 3:00 PM. Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday he will need transportation to school in caregiver’s vehicle. 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Engage in Developmental Play: Provide full-time care for the infant and 2-year-old, and after-school care for the 6-year-old. Plan and participate in activities that support developmental milestones, including reading, singing, dancing, and creative educational play.

  • Daily Care: Attend to the infant's needs, including feeding transferred to bottle(bottle preparation and feeding), diaper changes, nap routines, and maintaining a safe and clean environment. Provide similar care for the toddler, including meal prep, feeding, diaper changes, potty training and nap routines.

  • Outdoor Activities: Encourage outdoor play, take the children on walks, and provide fresh air and exercise.

  • Meal Prep: Prepare and serve healthy meals and snacks for the children, ensuring a balanced diet.

  • Communication: Provide regular updates to parents on the children’s daily activities, health, and development. Promptly report any signs of illness, injury, or concerns.

  • Light Housekeeping: Clean and organize areas used by the children, including tidying play spaces, cleaning toys, managing children’s dishes,  meal areas and children’s laundry. 

  • Safety: Supervise the children at all times, ensuring their safety and comfort while fostering an enriching environment.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of verifiable experience in infant and toddler care.

  • At least 2-3 professional references or letters of recommendation showcasing childcare experience.

  • CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to become certified).

  • Experience with families with multiple children of different  ages, infants through school age. 

  • Reliable vehicle and a clean driving record for any transportation needs.

  • Willingness to commit to the family for the long term.

  • Comfortable with a hybrid work schedule, as at least one parent may telework during the day.

  • Responsible, safety-conscious, and able to use sound judgment.

  • Flexibility, attention to details, and cleanliness. 

  • Proficiency in English 

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Hourly pay of $24-$26, based on experience and qualifications.

  • Overtime rate (time and a half) up to five hours a week 

  • $75 monthly mileage stipend

  • 2 weeks paid vacation (one week will be determined by the family's summer vacation)

  • All Federal Holidays paid time off ​
